Trying to install Sailfish stuck waiting phone to connect?
Hi
I'm trying to install Jolla's OS using this tutorial http://wiki.maemo.org/Sailfish#Introduction on Nokia N9 but I'm stuck in this step, Image : http://imgur.com/nNkYksW I waited 30 minutes for it to connect and no luck Note I have the phone turned off and connected via a reliable usb cable and I have tried both USB 2 and 3.0 ports with no luck, any help? |
Re: Trying to install Sailfish stuck waiting phone to connect?
Did you ever had connected your N9 to the PC? In flashing mode?
The forum is full of threads and posts with exactly same question and answers, so bear with me to not repeat myself and others for the hundredth time. which os? libusb64 drivers installed? no front usb, other usb port other pc, other os, linux live cd original cable, other cable Oops I did it again ... |
Re: Trying to install Sailfish stuck waiting phone to connect?
Thanks for the reply,
that problem was solved, now I'm trying to flash uniboot and have done all the previous steps to the letter, but when I enter the command "flasher -a main.bin -k zImage_2.6.32.54-ubiboot-02_301013 --flash-only=kernel -f -R" in cmd and connect, the phone turns on as soon as I plug the USB and I get the waiting fiasco error persists, any help? Thanks |

Please stop cross-posting. Or asking the same question in different new threads. It will not help you to get your answer sooner.

Re: Trying to install Sailfish stuck waiting phone to connect?
Sounds good so far.
Maybe try that: power down, hold power button for about 8-9 seconds, enter flashing command and only then connect USB. If that does not help only thing I would see is the '-a main.bin' parameter. You may try with '-F main.bin'. It should not make a difference, but ... |

Re: Trying to install Sailfish stuck waiting phone to connect?
Good :)
about camera idk but there are lots of other hardware not working in alternative OSes due to driver inavailability/compatibility. |
Re: Trying to install Sailfish stuck waiting phone to connect?
also, I noticed its a bit slower than Harmattan,
and is it possible to install Sailfish 2 or is this a pipedream? final question, is Android usable on N9? Thanks :) |
Re: Trying to install Sailfish stuck waiting phone to connect?
Harmattan is the only fully working OS.
Here some more food about nitdroid (microphone not working): http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=66459 |
