I just updated to 2.0.4.14, still issues with LPM :(

Re: Jolla C

:( I still get freezes even without LPM (though very rare). Maybe the higher resolution also plays a role (Onyx here).

sure!
Total of 90 now.
I bet a fat fishs roe that we will see Lastucases for our Cs!
Hopefully they will offer wallet style for some protection.

If you upgrade with that sleek stand lastu offers, you have yet another of those rare chances to make history by owning the first Phone that was officially sold cheaper than the attached case :p

Here is a quite positive review of the Jolla C, released today at famous dutch "Tweakers" site.

Anyway, the bottom line, about the OS itself rather than the device, is certainly positive: Sailfish looks good, works great and is based on good ideas. Compare that to not so long ago, when it was usually "Sailfish looks good and seems to be based on good ideas, but doesn't really work yet."

Anyone knows how Jolla C and Whatsapp perform with two sims? It seems not to be able to change on the fly, right?

clovis86 2016-12-20 07:48

Re: Jolla C

Not so good without a reboot, coz' android doesn't take into account hot switch between both sims without rebooting.

clovis86 2016-12-20 08:04

Re: Jolla C

After multiples tests and reboot, whatsapp is still seen as using my 1st sim ( meaning sim slot N° 1 )
Even if I disable sim slot 1 ( whith phone number linked to my WA account ) after reboot, WA is still working .... weird :o

Re: Jolla C

On the Z2, they've got a dual profile feature to support multiple sims*. Maybe that's something that could be done with AD, or even SFDroid. FWIW, I think the Tizen app isn't a native app, but rolled with the ACL layer they use there (may be wrong though).

Forbes contributor rates Jolla C as third best mobile of 2016.
As twittered by Antti Saarnio some minutes ago.

Thats a good possible reach, isn't it?

Agreed, it's a good reach, but it's worth noting that the article goes on to say the second best device was an Iphone 7 Plus (which is confusing because the headline tells the reader to forget it) and the very best one was the Galaxy Note 7 despite that fire thing we don't have to discuss further. Perhaps the author is in his rebel phase… or a bit silly. Not that that's a bad thing. A lot of my best friends are silly.

That said: I really like my "Jolla C" as well, even though there's no LTE for me since she was was born an Aqua Fish – but don't tell her that.

So, today the battery of my Jolla-C decided to get twice it's thickness. Any known replacement batteries which work in this device?

The Aqua Fish battery has the model number BR2567BU – you might have to try to import one from india. Good Luck (and please document your journey)!

edit: here's a tjc about it https://together.jolla.com/question/...tex-aqua-fish/

Re: Jolla C

Let's see if and how this is possible ... Maybe I find another battery which fits.

MaemoUser 2017-01-04 10:42

Re: Jolla C

I didn't find the battery inside of the EU or a way to import the battery to the EU.

So I will do this fix mentioned in the first answer.
https://together.jolla.com/question/...y-for-jolla-c/

I will make some detailed pictures of the process so people can do it themselves afterwards.

Thanks for sharing your experience! Thanks to your report, I checked and found out that my battery is slightly swollen as well, so it is not safe to use.

Could you please describe how difficult the workaround was and where did you buy the needed parts?

PS: I wonder if it's a problem with the Jolla C battery, or the fact that Jolla C has been overheating for me much more frequently than Jolla 1.

MaemoUser 2017-01-11 13:14

Re: Jolla C

I am not done with the process yet ;). I just ordered the missing parts.

I gonna use this copper thing to make the contacts and some thin cables. I will make pictures of the progress. But most likely not before the weekend.

Re: Jolla C

Hi everyone, been looking high and low, but couldn't find any Jolla C specific data... anyone knows which earpiece should I look for in order to replace the one in mine?

Volume during audio calls is just too low and crap and the few software commands I found didn't work or made any difference.

Thanks!

Strange question to ask. Any generic earphone with a mini jack must work. If the volume is low, try another model with a lower impedance. Expensive hi-fi earphones with high impedance may sound better, but they require more powerful amp inside, which many phones lack.

Sure, but he was asking for the earpiece, which looks like this in Jolla C. ;)
