Why no mention of the OnePlus X?

This has a great port by Kimmoli and Taaeem. All aspects of the phone are working in SailfishOS, including hardware button for switching ambiences and gestures for turning on camera or changing media.

It has a 5" AMOLED display, and the same processor as Fairphone 2.

Slightly difficult to get hold of now, but way cheaper than the Fairphone.

Yeah, if the Xperia Mini Pro had some slightly better specs I think everyone on this forum would buy one. It's only 9cm! The Xperia Mini is even smaller!

Sailfish would look just wonderfully on Xperia Mini. Finally the shameful screen real estate waste in apps like Email would not be so noticeable.

If all goes well I might have a Mini Pro in a couple of days. With 512MB RAM it probably won't be possible to have all that many applications for multitasking (although a lot of applications seem to consume not much more than 20MB, excluding the browser), but on a screen that small I think four is probably the limit so the covers don't get too small to tap. I'll keep everyone posted.

Some useful links regarding Sailfish OS port on Xperia 2011 devices:
https://wiki.merproject.org/wiki/Ada...r_2011_Xperias
http://forum.xda-developers.com/joll...-2011-t2171283

I would recommend reading them up (especially the second one) before purchasing the phone to avoid any possible disappointment.

Regarding multitasking. There is a possibility to run a few applications on the same time but it is a bit risky with the browser. If the device runs out of memory the screen may go black with the red LED light turned on. I am not sure if it is a bug or what.

Re: Other Devices...

Black screen with a fast flashing red LED is an error condition for something along the lines of "screen driver not responding". It used to happen in Sailfish from time to time, usually out of the blue, prompted by some random action like swipe from home to the lock screen. It also used to happen every time you restarted Lipstick, like for example to apply some patches in Patchmanager. Both issues were fixed some time ago, around the time of the upgrade to 1.1.9.

I am not sure Sailfish would actually run on Xperia Mini. I meant that screen size, not the actual device. The RAM is just too small. On my Jolla, I regularly see 500 MB used just by the OS itself, with no open apps and no Dalvik.

Dzięki! I took a quick look at that thread earlier but didn't notice the usernames, and didn't see you had posted a few screenshots in there already. In fact, it looks quite alright, small scaling issues aside which I assume will be fixed in the next release. If you don't mind, could you post a couple more to show off what it looks like on such a small screen?

In any case I wasn't really expecting much, just the thought of a device with a perfect form factor and the superior mobile OS gets me excited.

Edit: I was going to ask if the Weather widget works, but of course if the Jolla account doesn't work yet, that won't work either. Maybe the MeeCast widget?

Thanks but it's too big, I'm looking for something really compact. I already have the Jolla phone and it seems to be really similar anyway.

I have the same question. Why isn't anyone talking about one plus X ? IMHO one plus x is the best sailfish port out there. That too with 3 gigs of RAM .Here in india it is available for about 14000 (220 $ in ebay) . The only problem i have found in the spec is the somewhat limited wifi bands and a very glossy back side. But looks better than any premium phone out there.

Xperia Z3 Compact: 127.3 x 64.9 x 8.6 mm

I wouldn't call 4mm significantly smaller.

Compared to the N9: 116.5 x 61.2 x 12.1 mm

The dimensions aren't quite the whole story. The n9 and Sony phones are curvy compared to a Jolla so when you're holding one you've not got edges and it feels smaller than they are in the hand.

Anyhow, the compacts are pretty much the only phones with decent spec and sub 5" screens these days.
