Looks like Battery Log. You can find it at harbour.

What about the battery draining with collectd? Is it measurable?

I think I can almost safely say that since the second my phone was updated to 2.0.4, the battery drain of 2.0.2 ended. Battery usage during 8-10 hours of sleep is now 4-5% with Wi-Fi on, 12 open applications and Android support running and 1-2% with Wi-Fi off, where it was 15-30% with 2.0.2. Nothing else changed, so it seems to be fixed.

Lucky you. I took mine off the charger with 100% battery at 22:30 and went to sleep. The first thing I did when the alarm went off at 05:30 was check the battery status: 90%, dropping down to 89% almost immediately. This has been pretty consistent ever since I acquired the phone some 2 1/2 years ago.

WiFi and cellular on, GPS off, no Android, one running app (Browser).

In addition to my previous post, I put the phone on the charger again and took it off at 06:41, with a 100% battery status. At exactly 07:41, the battery was at 96%. The phone was idle all the time.

Attachment 38740

I am now uninstalling System Monitor for a few days to see if that is the culprit. My 4% in an hour does not stack very well against nthn's 4% in 8 hours.

As I understand the monitoring tools (like collectd or so) use methods to disable deep sleeping because otherwise they are not able to make a clean measurement for the whole time. And disabled deep sleep drains the battery.

pichlo 2016-10-13 09:48

Re: 2.0.4/Fiskarsinjoki

I understand that, but I was expecting a 10% difference, 20% at most. Not 800%.
I will see after a few days.

nthn 2016-10-13 10:20

Re: 2.0.4/Fiskarsinjoki

I've never had battery draining issues (at least not that I noticed) with System Monitor before, so I doubt it's the culprit.

Re: 2.0.4/Fiskarsinjoki

I'm also using System monitor since it's available. Battery usage is about 4 to 6 % per night.

WiFi and cellular on, no Android, no automatic sync, one daemon running (Telegram).

hm, now trying system monitor after a 20% drain when driving to work...

That could just be due to really bad reception. My battery went down 10% on a 30 minute train ride.

The main problem for me: I live in 3g land. Switching 4g->3g and back on the country side between cities.

After a few days' testing, I can officially confirm that System Monitor was not the culprit.
Which is hardly surprising, given, as I said a number of times, that my battery life has not changed at all since I acquired the phone some 2.5 years ago. I did not have System Monitor installed all that time.

I second that. I have been taking pictures with volume up button since november 2013 launch party.

Thank you, but /usr/share/jolla-camera/presets/GstOMXMPEG4VideoEnc-omxmpeg4videoenc.prs is no longer available in 2.0.4

Any other clue ?

New?
I'm using this function since day one on my oldest Jolla...

pichlo 2016-10-18 09:13

Re: 2.0.4/Fiskarsinjoki

In the interest of objectivity...

I have just tried it. The first thing I noticed was that is does not work. Pressing the volume buttons in Camera regulate the volume, as expected. I thought to myself, is there some setting somewhere that I missed? With Jolla you never know, since they like putting settings all over the place instead in the one place where they belong, the application itself.

But it turned out the problem was elsewhere. The volume buttons work like, well, volume buttons when Camera is in the video mode. In the photo mode, they work as a shutter trigger.

So much for consistency.

Well today they have gone for the full release of Fiskarsinjoki but my Intex Aquafish is still showing nothing :( I thought that only early access updates are not available.

Intex is the one that has to send out the update for the Aqua Fish, and I wouldn't expect timely updates from a company seemingly run by caged monkeys.

Do you really think it? So I better switch my AF to Jolla C again with coderus script.

Don't forget there is a way to make your Intex to receive updates at the same time with Jolla C: https://together.jolla.com/question/...a-c-not-modem/

And it works flawlessly.

I have an issue installing 2.0.4 on a jolla c.
the download started but failed and i (probably wrongly) restarted the phone.
since then it says there is no update available and seems that store affirms that i have no apps installed ;)

i tried to use the utility function " rebuild registry" twice without success :o

is there a solution apart from factory reset?
thanks

replying to myself... i managed to restart the download by playing with the ssu command :p
not sure about the exact sequence but a mix of ssu ur, ssu domain sales was enough...

Updated both tablet and Jolla1 phone yesterday. Got announcement from Jolla this morning. Everything went fine although I did notice that, surprisingly, the download went quite a bit faster on the phone than the tablet. At this point, can't say if it was the hardware or something else.

I noticed that the early access downloads on the tablet are also pretty slow

It's Aurajoki (2.0.2.51). I usually keep AF in the drawer because of the battery bug , I don't use it at all but today I saw notification regarding the update so I took it out.
