Re: SailfishOS on Sony Z3 Compact Tablet

The status page on wiki.merproject.org says GPS should work, which may be a false positive information.
By the way, Does scorpion's GPS work on the latest sfos port?

Hello,

I've got a question about android app support on this device. Is this possible to use Anbox or AlienDalvik on Scorpion_windy?

Thanks :)

I've added in the required kernel patches for Anbox, but I've not really tested it out myself.

It should run, but Anbox itself is fairly experimental at the moment, you're welcome to try.

Thanks for your reply.

Are there any instructions, how to install it (repositories, commands etc)?

Re: SailfishOS on Sony Z3 Compact Tablet

it should be a case of adding Mal's anbox repo:
https://build.merproject.org/project...home:mal:anbox

and installing anbox-sailfishos and anbox-sailfishos-image-32bit

Re: SailfishOS on Sony Z3 Compact Tablet

Packages on this repository are 64 bit (in my opinion, armv8el), will it work on my device (armv7)?

PS Could you tell me how to do full backup of android device (OS), without a root, to install Sailfish (AFAIR there is no multirom for this device)

Nope they're 32bit and will work fine. aarch64 is the 64bit arm target.

No multirom, if you want to backup user data I think there are standard androidy ways of doing that, if you just want to get the stock os back you can reflash from sony Emma tool without any backups.

Re: SailfishOS on Sony Z3 Compact Tablet

Currently I'm installing sailfish on my tablet, but I've got a problem with flash twrp, "FAILED (remote: Command not allowed)". Could you help me?

Okay, in your instruction should be FOTAKernel, not fotakernel:)

I've got another problem:loading: 'sailfishos-scorpion_windy-release-2.2.0.29-Alpha1.zip'
error: closed, when doing adb sideload, I'm currently in twrp.Should I go to Advanced/ADB Sideload (on tablet), if yes, should I check "Wipe Dalvik Cache" and Wipe Cache?

Sailfish is installed :)

I have no idea how to parse this, if you have suggestions for the instructions please let me know! :D

Re: SailfishOS on Sony Z3 Compact Tablet

I installed anbox, but It doesn't work. When starting - the bootsplash is shown and then app is closing. Some logs here:
Ignoring files which are already in rootfs
mount: /var/lib/anbox/rootfs: unknown filesystem type 'squashfs'.
find: /var/lib/anbox/rootfs/system/: No such file or directory
umount: /var/lib/anbox/rootfs: not mounted.
and then a lot of "No such file of directory"

I've got another question for you. I run zypper ref, zypper dup and there are some updates (related (IMO) to hardware adaptation files (?)) - can I apply those updates, will it change something in my system?

Thank you very much for your help :)
