power point files
Is there any good way to view .pps files on an N800? If so, how?
Thanks for any help you can provide. |
Re: power point files
Please write to your local Nokia representative and ask them to license (and port) Picsel Viewer ( www.picsel.com) to the NIT platform!
PS: No, there's no way to view or edit pps files on the N800 at the moment. |
Re: power point files
I'd rather see OpenOffice get ported.

Re: power point files
I've been converting my powerpoints to PDF for tablet use.

Re: power point files
GoogleDocuments is launching a presentation service. Not direct on the NIT, but a possibility. It looks like it's live now. I haven't tried it on the tablet, though.

Re: power point files
Did you know there is a port in development of openoffice.org for linux on ARM platform? http://porting.openoffice.org
Who knows? I successfully use openoffice.org 2.something on a 128 M plus 128 M swap machine with puppy linux and it's fairly usable (though it's a quicker processor). |
Re: power point files
I been doing some looking around and googledocs did work, but patheticly so. I have to keep putting browserok=true and it was tough to look at. I wouldn't suggest it, but it's better than everthing else. I'm going to look into coverting to pdf. Does anyone know the best way to do this?

Re: power point files
I too just tried it. Awesome! I set up a couple of simple slides and published them, though I'm not sure it was necessary, then viewed the presentation outside on a bench. The d-pad cycled through the slides easily and there was no lag time to speak of.
Of course, in the 'real' world I have no real need for powerpoint, but dang, this is awesome! When I bought my N800, it was to escape from the world of Micromagnonsoft. Of course Googledocs was still in early beta but it seemed like it might work, and now look, I don't need wurd or exawful or powerwasherpoint! Goodby Microsot:p Google may indeed take over the world, and at this rate, I'm kinda looking forward to it!;) |
