Here is terminal output for successful flash upon XA2. The fact that you have reached line 158 in flashing script is good news as shows ADB and Fasboot installed correctly. Presuming that you must have enabled “OEM unlocking” and “USB debugging whilst on Android to get this far and device is actually "bootloader unlocked"? To avoid any confusion this device was boot loader unlocked via Windows prior to flashing via Mac OSX.

I had the same issue; couldn't get it to work. Had to revert to a Windows machine and by following exactly the same instructions as I did for Mac OS X I was successful in flashing my XA2 with Sailfish.

I had the same problems. And the same solution.
Something doesnt work under MacOS

Could you @chilango and @ridmaur specify when that took place? As i wrote earlier, there was a problem with the script when sfosx was released. The fastboot version on macOS does not accept the "-l" feature anymore and that had to be worked around in the script iirc.

I was involved in the finding and had and heard of many successful flashes via macOS since then.

Here we go: Sailfish X Beta now available for Sony Xperia XA2 device range

Interesting bit from the updated Jolla Page for SailfishX:

Quote:

13. The Android app support of Xperia X is based on version 4.4.4 now. Will you update the Android support of Xperia X devices?
With Android 8.1 app support we focus on the newest hardware (Xperia XA2 range), and currently we are not planning to deploy this solution backwards to older Xperia X models.
If this means there will be no update for the Xperia X's Android Layer or if there might be an update to e.g. Android 7 Compatiblity later on is not stated anywhere. The question was asked in the comments of the release blogpost, but looking at Jolla's communication approach in the past I'm sceptical that there will be any clear answer.

This seems quite clear, no android update for X.

anyone else having issues with XA2 not connecting to network properly? Mine can see the sim card no issue at all but will not connect to a network, when i reboot it does but then on another boot up it doesn't anymore

Seems to be about right. As expected no clear answer to the many questions about this on the blog, but at least this comment from James Noori on the blog seems to be quite clear

We always said ?After we have released the support for the new XA2 range of devices, we will evaluate the feasibility of enabling newer Android support on Xperia X.? But the current situation makes the feasibility of it extremely difficult.
(emphasis by me)

So I wouldn't get my hopes up to see any work being done from Jollas side to get a higher version of android layer running on the Xperia X.
