I don't think that there is a gui application. I am using nginx not for transfering files, but to have a local repository on device.
Don't know about java and never tried but there is this nginx-admin maybe it works and then you have a kind of gui.

Otherwise you could try to use ftp there is a gui but don't know if it is working https://openrepos.net/content/dipesh/ftp-server. But this is something similar what you are looking for.

Is it for everybody that Xperia 10 Camera 16:9 is only 8 MP?

It says 20MPix on mine. 8MPix is for the front camera.

What is the situation with Android app-stores right now?

There was aptoide which was the semi-official store with an easy to install method.

Now this is deemed dodgy - with updates not to be trusted - and another appstore suggested.

But no easy way to install this - and android apps need updating...

What [should] we be doing, and [how] should we be doing it?

^ There's F-Droid in the jolla store. Definitely not dodgy.

Why is Aptoide "deemed dodgy"?
From Google's point of view I guess every official store mirror would be dodgy.

If you need something that's not in F-Droid, you can always install downloaded .apk files manually I guess?

Aurora Store works fine. The process of installing all updates may miss one or two, but after a few runs everything is up to date again.
Using MicroG on XA2. F-Droid has been installed too, but I forgot what for [:)]

And this is on Xperia 10? I have it 16:9 8 Mpx, 4:3 12 Mpx.
It doesn't even have a 20 Mpx sensor, but a 13 Mpx one according to Wikipedia.

Oh, sorry, I was so blinded by assuming this thread was only about Xperia X that I did not read the question properly (or even the thread title).

Dodgy:

Apparently fixed - but not a great day in Jolla comms strategy that this wasn't better advertised.
