Re: N800 Browser Stability in latest Firmware

ysss, you just reminded me: Privoxy has wreaked havoc for me on https sites. It refused to allow me into a couple, and after I uninstalled it I can't get into ANY if I'm connecting to company network via VPN. I think something residual was left behind.

One of the original reasons I broke down and installed it was due to Pidgen. If I use Pidgen at work via VPN, to access our internal IM (sametime), I can't simultaneously connect to external IM accounts... and vice versa. I was led to believe Privoxy would help with both that and my bank account access (which it didn't, but was rendered moot by microb). So now it looks like I'm hosed.

Oh well. I was gonna reflash fairly soon anyway... :D

Here's what I do:
1) privoxy remains installed
2) Create company network setup #1, "company"
3) Create company network setup #2, "company-privoxy"
4) Configure "company-privoxy" with proxy on, "company" proxy off.
I can switch between the two configurations for the same network without problems.

Yeah, that could work for toggling, TA, but I sure did want both situations at once... as I usually can with my laptop (except in this @#$%^ Holiday Inn with the $&^%! internet...)

hum privoxy is installed here also. I also have to try this without privoxy then.

OT:
Ahaha Holiday Inn, I've never seen a so expensive wireless price as in this hotel, in Germany at least.. I moved to another hotel where I pay only 6euros/6h for 200kbytes/s.
and unencrypted networks are really funny

Re: N800 Browser Stability in latest Firmware

Texrat, the problem was much worse on my end with more than 1 browser window open (I usually have 2-3 browsers open when following different search threads). When I keep to 1 browser open, it's much more stable.

They're not charging for the wired LAN hookup, as well they shouldn't. It's slower than my N800 on GPRS.
