A merge between Sailfish or Meego features among other apps and UI experience would be such a remarkable noticeable device comparing to a normal UI repeated one.

what does Meego provide that SFOS doesn't do?

More intuitive and polished ui, and also availability, and not tied to any country based os (15000 bla bla bla phones sold to bla bla bla country)

Regarding the messaging/voice methods integration; nothing there that's somehow "Meego-related" that SFOS could not provide if Jolla just wanted to implement it.

Same with offline navigation, nothing "Meego-related" there. Offline navigation was laready implemented on Symbian and has been possible for ever on any OS you wish to name.

Does SFOS have less niche cred than Meego did? Really?

It's a relevant question;
it'd be interesting to know how many n9 in total got sold (Edit : to answer that question)...

Plugin-based architecture of MeeGo was paramount imo (even tho you had to hack it most of the times to enable it's full potential)

You can get both on Sailfish but you have to install the SIP support yourself. No idea why Jolla doesn't include it.

The interface of Sailfish is exactly the same. Except MeeGo's back button, which became a swipe, and thus more intuitive and polished.
