Exactly. I can even see phone icon to make such connection.
So why not to port Navicore from Symbian to Debian to Nokia 770/800
and have free NokiaMaps for use on Nokia 770/800
and have still paid routing service as an option, already offered for a family of Nokia gsm phones ?

I don't ask for a free routing at Nokia 770/800.

Or in the case, free NokiaMaps don't come from Navicore,
prt NokiaMaps from Symbian Nokia to Debian Nokia 770/800 anyway and finally.

Navicore is available for the 770 / N800...

Nokia Maps is not available, but that's Nokia's decision, not mine. The nearest equivalent of Nokia Maps is Maemo Mapper, which has more functionality, and is also free.

Sorry for typo.
Meant porting Navicore from Symbian to Debian.
Or porting free NokiaMaps from Symbian to Debian.
Nokia 800/ 770 is still a powerful satnav device
and Nokia can still charge users routing fee as does for a family of Nokia phones.

It would be pretty nice I guess but as someone else said just use Maemomapper if you want a free map application. A smart2go port linux port might be a good idea still.
BTW you can pre-load maps from a PC using the Maploader tool with smart2go so its not tied to GPRS/Edge/3g downloads.

There is nothing available today to allow remote access / virtual terminal to a Symbian phone, so it can't be done.

I'm not sure what are you trying to achieve - maybe if you tell us what you want, we can suggest the best way of achieving it...

Linux screen does nothing close to what you are asking for, and the rest are examples of client running on the Symbian platform, not servers allowing hosts on a Nokia Tablet to access the phone itself.
