Re: samsung galaxy s
I got mine a few weeks ago. It's better than the n900 in every conceivable way out of the box, and the cherry on top is that samsung is actually supporting it with more than just maintenance software...

Re: Bullish analysts: N8 will save Nokia
Surely pumping out a few more x/5 devices and charging full price for them will allow Nokia to surpass their competition. Won't engender negative feelings and drive away all their long term...

Re: Bullish analysts: N8 will save Nokia
That's why Android and iOS haven't managed to affect Symbian at all. People don't care if all that cash they dropped gets them the latest and greatest features or not, they just want to make phone...

Re: Bullish analysts: N8 will save Nokia
Nokia makes great hardware. Unfortunately for them everyone else has caught up. Aside from that, the reason they are losing out to the competition is the software. Symbian has hardly changed in the...

Re: N900 vs samsung galaxy s
Well because this thing wasn't a complete waste of money, I'll probably be keeping it for a couple of years. Who knows where things will lie by that point. I won't consider a Nokia though. That's for...

Re: N900 vs samsung galaxy s
I made this move a couple of weeks ago and I'm very happy. Best of all Samsung has decided to support the device, and it will be getting the froyo update next month. I don't miss the n900 at all.

Re: Meego 1.1 UX on N900 Video
There is absolutely no way that it's going to be ready for October. I also doubt it's ever going to run smoothly on the n900's hardware. More likely they'll be focusing on the next gen ARM and Intel...

Re: Is the N900 Worth it?
He wouldn't be losing functionality with an android device because there are many HSPA Android devices out there that will work on his network.

Re: Is the N900 Worth it?
I used mine with Rogers on wifi only for a long time before WIND launched and now I get 3G data. Having the 3G is nice but not necessary. Personally I'd avoid the N900 until the next device comes out...

Re: Meego - Where's Maemo multitasking?
That has nothing to do with the plain fact that MeeGo's multitasking is absolutely nothing like Android's multitasking, aside from the ability to have processes run in the background.

Re: Meego - Where's Maemo multitasking?
Clearly you've never used Android. The only thing close to that it has is that it brings up a list of icons of recently used apps when you hold down the home key.
It's closer to WebOS.
