Re: Let's talk Nokia stock. Really.
I was wondering myself how the shares could drop 15% the very day of the announcement of the new flagship unit (and its smaller companion). After some thought I came up with following main reasons:

Re: N9 PR1.3 by end of May'12
I think it would be more like:
Elop: "Come in!"
Dev: "Just to ask, how much will it cost..."
Elop: "Wait, who are you again?"
Dev: "Oh, I'm the Maemo guy. I..."
Elop pulls trapdoor lever, dev...

Re: Any *decent* browser for the N900?
As Scorpius said, that's the price of progress. While the "full desktop experience" (including Flash) is (was) one of the main high points of the device web developers nowadays don't really consider...

Re: Let's talk Nokia stock!
This is an unfortunate milestone in the history of Nokia. In nearly two years Elop has been their CEO Nokia has seen their stock price plummet more than 70%...

Re: The Intel phone that could have run Meego
Currently it is possible to run a Linux chroot and pipe the UI through localhost VNC, So low FPS applications should run as long as the CPU can keep up. Someone is also working on a native X Server...

Re: The Intel phone that could have run Meego
Another Medfield phone, the Lenovo K800 has been released this month as well, though apparently only in China. It's similar to the Xolo. but a bit chunkier with a bigger 720p screen.
There are...

Re: The Intel phone that could have run Meego
Yea, I'm kind of hoping there might still be some Intel or (former) Nokia employee with some willingness to see Meego (after all the effort they put into Meego/Moblin) run on an Intel based mobile...

The Intel phone that could have run Meego
The first Medfield phone made it to the market (in India). Check this (http://www.anandtech.com/show/5770/lava-xolo-x900-review-the-first-intel-medfield-phone) out: it's called Lava Xolo X900...

Re: N9 or SGS2 for someone who likes development?
For me the question is more to the tune: still get a 64GB N9 or wait for the Galaxy S3. Though nothing is officially confirmed for the S3 it's safe to assume it will be a noticeable upgrade from the...

Re: NITdroid Alpha Release #1 is out
The N9 has the same CPU/GPU combo as the Samsung I9003 (Galaxy SL) (http://www.mobile88.com/mobilegallery/comparephone.asp?compare=22119&compare=22039), so any app that runs there should run on the...

Re: Siilihai Web Forum Reader
Is there a server-less mode too (i.e. saving locally)? I kind of like being independent from a server so the app would still work if the server went down or was hacked or whatnot. RSS readers work...

Re: Getting new phone: N9 or N900?
Imho not that surprising. This is a forum of tinkerers. And unlike all Maemo devices up to the N900, the N9 was designed to be less hackable/extendable, the major culprits being:
Aegis...

If so, is there a...

The N950 could have been the "business" model, as someone mentioned in another thread, a "communicator" device aimed at managers, executives etc. You know, Nokia's high mark-up market segment that...
