Re: Most reliable modem router when using n810 for internet radio

I don't know the most reliable router, but most seem to be reliable. My home router is a D-Link also, but a DI-614. I don't have any trouble with it. Of course my setup is going to be different...

Re: How many spare batteries do you have?

One battery :-(. Buying a spare just seems too expensive. But as the original wears out, I'll probably buy another. Sometimes, my run time seems very short.

But I do have a solar charger for...

Re: Two slightly similar concepts

I like the concept a lot. I want the device to be reasonably small, with as big a screen as possible. I don't like side-to-side scrolling in the web browser (like I have to do now with my N800,...

Re: Solar/Wind/Crank charger?

Well, it's still a 5 volt source. I haven't timed it, but it didn't -feel- like it took longer that using the wall charger.

But -- what does take time is charging the solio device. The solio has...

Re: Solar/Wind/Crank charger?

I use the solio charger also, for my N800. It came in a package at Costco with 8 tips, including the Nokia that fits the N800. There are others available on their web site as Sondjata mentions, but...

Re: VMWare on N800: Windows CE and Android Running

After watching the video, I think VMware is being a bit deceptive. She implies that this is VMware running on a mobile phone, and multitasking other mobile phone OS's. Most people will watch it and...

Re: Ideas on an Evernote Client: Web clipper + xournal + online storage

When I first came across Quck Clip, this is what I wished for, Quick-Clip interface to Evernote (or Uberclip). Is there a possibility, since Evernote has an API??

Re: How do I install tgz files?

Empire, those are tar g-zipped files (hence tgz). I have a winzip package installed that unzips them. You can also use tar at the command line using the x-terminal application. You'll have to...

Re: Battery powered portable USB charger??

I picked up a solar charger at Costco (U.S. brick and mortar store) for $59. It's a clever design with the 3 wings that open up. It'll soak up the sun and charge my N800 at the same time....

Re: Tethering N810 + Crackberry Curve + AT&T

I will tell you what works for me, though there are the following differences, so YMMV.
--I'm on Tmobile, not AT&T
--I'm on an N800 with Chinook

First, your phone does showup in the control...

Re: Skype

I have to say that I use skype a lot on my N800, and the DTMF feature does work. Maybe it's touchy. I do make sure to hold the button down for ~ 1 second while navigating 'calling trees'.

Re: Skype client questions on N810

New question, but still on topic (IMHO):

Is it just me, or can Skype not be minimized while using it? I was talking away on skype on my N800, and my mind was wandering, I thought I'd check my RSS...

Re: Is the N800 for me?

Only you can decide if it's for you. But . . .

1. Yes it displays all the web pages that I have tried.
2. I have never gotten an out of memory error. I've set the swap to use some of the miniSD.

Re: TiVo control over network (via nc or telnet)

OK, dumb question. The information says to telnet into my series 3 tivo. telnet? how quaint. Will ssh work, and, and does my n800 have telnet?

That's right. The $3 plan gives you free calls inside the U.S. And when you are outside the U.S. they charge you the skype out rate. Which is pretty cheap. Look at the skype.com site for rates. ...
