No - but it's fairly easy to get around the 90-day trial period. Not sure of the legality of it, so not going to tell you exactly how :p Have a look for any hidden files in the JRE installation,...

Writing a client which doesn't rely on Nautilus should be fairly trivial - the big problem is the Dropbox daemon (the part that actually does the syncing) which, as daddeddad mentions, is closed...

I've reflashed 3 times, but they were all simply because I wanted to remove all of my apps, data etc. and start again :)

Not yet bricked it. I'd imagine I will at some point, though!

Think it's talking about iPhone-optimized web apps; the likes of http://iphone.facebook.com, rather than anything you'd find in the app store.

Got Jetty up and running myself yesterday (see below! :)) Not tried to do anything with it really though. Absolutely love this phone! :D
