Re: Changing (delete) launcher / web / contacts buttons?
I don't use the bookmarks or contacts much either.
I did some experiments and got the entries to delete but the task switcher doesn't expand and gets confused.
If you look in...

Re: USB 2.0 OTG on N810
Something else you can try when attaching USB devices is to enter the command lsusb in an xterm window. This should list something meaningful for the attached device such as maybe its name or just an...

Re: N800 USB Host Mode Experiment
I've now got a USB A female to female gender changer which I'm using with the original Nokia cable. The result is much more reliable than the other adapter but some oddities remain.
If I plug the...

Re: N800 won't power on
Perhaps there is some data on the card that is confusing the N800. If you have a card reader try formatting it in that.
I had problems with corruption on an older RS-MMC card until I reformatted...

Re: N800 USB Host Mode Experiment
The thing I've got is described as a "USB A Female to 5 Pin Mini B Plug Gender Changer" a professional looking molded factory one.
Though with the USB cable being right next to the N800 socket it...

Re: N800 USB Host Mode Experiment
Well my initial success with host mode was a bit premature it seems.
Some of the time a device is detected just fine and accessed with no problems. I have a USB hard disk and hub that shows up in...

Re: N800 USB Host Mode Experiment
For those in the UK I tried an adaptor on eBay from psylins described as a USB A Female to 5 Pin Mini B Plug Gender Changer. This does not auto switch to host mode but works fine when manually...

Re: SMB/CIFS share support
I got this working by just insmodding cifs.ko and using the standard mount command. The -o option should come first before the "device" and mount point for example:

Re: Removing the contacts menu
I wanted to do the same on the N800 and OS2008. I got exactly the same behaviour editing tasknavigator.conf: setting X-Load to false didn't help, neither did deleting the entry from the file. Similar...
