With my XP laptop I naturally used the computer name of my homePC to connect to. With the 770 I need to use the ip address, of course (without port).

I have the same situation and issue as bsterix above.
Installed UltraVNC on my homePC (XP Home) and tested it with the UltraVNC client on my laptop (XP Pro). Works perfectly.
Then tried this VNC...

Because I'm just a "normal" enduser, and not familiar with Linux internals. Maybe a bit more advanced than "normal" since I'm writing in this forum. Diving into root stuff may be risky, nevertheless.

I just get "unable to install" whatever I try to install with the Application Manager (2006OS, obviously). Examples: fbreader-maemo2, ntpdate
Am I missing some dependency, or what?

maemo-gaim doesn't work properly
I installed it, but when setting up an account the protocol list was empty. So it was a no-go.
I used the OS 2005 versioner before upgrading my tablet and would have liked to continue using gaim.
