Re: New GizmoProject VoIP available

I also had trouble connecting with the new version. After that, I downgraded to the previous version and that didn't work either! I haven't tried it since last week. If anyone has a solution, please...

Re: DOSBox 0.65 Builds/Runs in Scratchbox+Qemu

ArnimS,

I just wanted to say "Thank you!" for all your work in porting/hacking UAE, POSE and DOSBox! There is such a dearth of productivity applications for the 770/800, and I'm hoping this will...

Re: Quick Bookmark Access

I just discovered another way to get the bookmarks. On the N800, when in fullscreen mode, click on the little "world" icon at the bottom left of the screen (on the Opera status bar.) Instant...

Re: Slightly frustrated - n800 noob

You're absolutely right, there needs to be a more coordinated Wiki/FAQ and a better application catalog that actually contains working apps and not stuff with "missing install file." But this forum...

Re: Just an observation - (no flames please)

Even though I'm a long time linux user (~10 years), I tend to agree with the OP. On my home PC I started by building my own linux, later migrated to SUSE, and now use Gentoo. If I don't touch the...

Re: Why does this thing crash *at all*?

I think Nokia is pressing ahead with new HW versions and also new SW updates without ever fixing the existing ones. In contrast, my trusty Psion 5MX is still using the same OS that it came with and...

Re: The N800 _MUST_ have a good PIM to succeed

Nokia (and most engineering companies these days) develops everything with a global effort. It is likely the guys who wrote the SW for your 6021 aren't even in the same part of the world as those who...

Re: The N800 _MUST_ have a good PIM to succeed

I agree that the N800 needs a good PIM suite. The current N800 options really aren't usable when compared to Palm or Psion - I haven't used any WinCE based PDAs, but I imagine they integrate well...

Re: Battery life not what it was

Fortunately, my email request for a new battery found the right people! The Nokia Executive Response Team (whoever that is) replied and they are sending me a new battery at their expense with a...

Re: Battery life not what it was

I think everyone means well in wanting to have Nokia examine the battery and figure out what's wrong. I went ahead and sent an email on the nokiausa.com website, but for the most part getting...

Re: Battery life not what it was

I know this thread is old, but it's the only one I found on overcharging the battery.

I have been in the habit of leaving my 770 connected to the charger all the time when I'm not using it. ...

Re: U.S. developer codes sent

Yes indeed, the code worked now. This morning the order would not go through and I was getting charged $29 tax too. (I live in CA) This afternoon everything went smoothly _and_ no tax for a grand...

Re: U.S. developer codes sent

Have you actually been able to use your US code to order the N800? My US code hasn't worked so far, and I haven't seen any reports of anyone here being able to order it. (No one in the EU has had...

Re: U.S. developers -- anyone received a code?

Ok, I have received *two* codes! The first one was an EU code, and when I went to nokiausa.com to order the N800, the code wasn't recognized. Quim.Gil at Nokia said they would swap out the EU code...

No kidding! My 770 is going to be nothing more than just an expensive paperweight. Wait - I still use Gizmo, but other than that I never ended up depending on it for anything. It's not worth it to...

I agree with this! I just used Gizmo for the first time today with a 770-to-PC call today, and the voice quality was excellent!

In fact, right now Gizmo is my killer app for the 770. Even if it...

I'll try it when I get home. Perhaps this...

Since there was such overwhelming demand to help out (NOT), I decided to simplify things and just do it myself.

This will be hosted on maemo garage once my project application has been approved....
