The only way I have found is to install becomeroot, then sudo gainroot from xterminal.

finally issue the command:
shutdown -hP 60

The system will halt and power off in 60 minutes.

listen to a .mpu file stlaunchm3u %q
listen to a stream stlaunch %q

and things seem to work just fine....
