Re: What can i do with my Extra N900, something really "neat", inspiration needed

How about de-soldering the RAM and re-soldering a higher capacity one, like this guy did with his router:

Re: Nokia N900 Apps for Blind People!

Bumping this old thread because I'd love to be able to operate my phone without having to look at it all the time.

Re: [Announce] bleeding-edge wl1251 wifi driver for Maemo Fremantle

New driver is working great, thanks!

Can we expect that this version, like the previous one, also drains too much power to be feasible as a full time replacement to the stock drivers?

Re: [ANNOUNCE] Keep Wi-Fi power-management off during SSH/SFTP sessions

It works fine for me. thanks Bad_Habit!

But T4UR14N, whatever your problem is, it has nothing to do with what was posted: there is nothing there that interacts with apt.

Possibly you put a...

Re: [Announce] CSSU Testing thread

Seems that there is a lack of testers on this?

But isn't the reason for the separation between CSSU Testing and Stable to allow pushing these changes out to testers?

Re: [Announce] bleeding-edge wl1251 wifi driver for Maemo Fremantle

Oh jeez,

Fixed it anyway, when I found that a seperate copy of the driver files "just worked"

The main part of the problem: Somehow I'd ended up with 0-byte .ko files, somewhere along the way...

Re: [Announce] bleeding-edge wl1251 wifi driver for Maemo Fremantle

WTF, it even fails to work for me with kernel-power46-wl !!

I cant even imagine why that would be possible. I'd love to hear any theories.

injection support isn't worth wiping all my apps and...

Re: [Development] kernel-power

A newer test on those drivers isn't so promising, though;

Still it would be nice to get more people able...

Re: [Announce] bleeding-edge wl1251 wifi driver for Maemo Fremantle

Sure seems that way.

But all I'm doing is grabbing the binary at http://david.gnedt.eu/blog/wl1251/ , and I've just extracted only the folder:
/wl1251-maemo/binary/compat-wireless/
to my n900,...

Re: [Announce] bleeding-edge wl1251 wifi driver for Maemo Fremantle

Somehow it's not working for me either wih kernel power v48 OR v49, Instead I get a "unknown sumbol in module" error, with dmesg spewing the following;

wl1251: Unknown symbol...

Re: [Announce] kernel-power stable v49 in Extras-Devel

Yes, as I said, that was the first place that I tried, unfortunately for me, none of the included modules load:

However, there...

Re: Any way to catch requests for network, for power saving?

OK, I tried that, but it seems to me that maemo doesn't know how to deal with an non-loaded wifi module, which is what I would like it to do.

(like many, I keep the wifi module unloaded because...

Any way to catch requests for network, for power saving?

Since I use autodisconnect on my n900, my wifi interface tends to be off whenever an app makes a request, and so most of my data transfers get initiated over 3G.
But according to this;...
