ok its working again...dont know exactly what i did but i did try the issues suggested here multiple times and eventually something worked.

So its back to the default state right now.

thanks for the link.

For some reason the tool keeps throwing an error message "Cannot write Image File to SD Card"....

I have tried two standard SD cards ( 1GB & a 2GB card) and same error on...

thanks for the pointer...and i do totally understand the images are experimental.

I found a few references to the SDUPdateTool on this site but nothing that leads anywhere....might you have any...

I tried to install mer on my q7 using the instructions here and the file downloaded from

http://www.daimi.au.dk/~cvm/mer-0.14testing2.SmartQ7

I got as far as getting the chinese writing...
