Yes, that was the problem. Thanks! I cant believe it, thats so embarrassing :o
As all the other games on my N900 do play sound when the phone is in silent mode, i didnt even think about...

i installed ScummVM on my N900 and also managed to run Monkey Island 3 and DOTT....everything works perfect - but i dont hear any sounds.
I played with the settings, i tried...
