  Its a problem Skype having with some of they "supernodes".
  Not all users and not all versions of skype are affected.

  I dint have offline mode active while sleeping, have the
  N900 on the edge of the bed, so not that near my head.
  Cellphones havent that much poweroutput like eg....

  Other solution is patching the orig. mail client to modest-3.4.2-baxyp-1.

  Try the "app" "shortcutd"
  You can set the camera focus button to open the Dashboard!
  
  You can find that option after installing the app in the

  so i only turned on Bluetooth on my palm and on the n900 and choose Kategory send on the Adressbook in my palm (Hagenuk palm OS 5.4.0)
  Waited 1 min ( about 130 adresses) and´s done :)

  im using media connect (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_Media_Connect#External_links) on my win xp
  and it worked like charm (exept streaming xvid/divx avi container videos, its a maemo bug)...

  the tablet mode button is from "cellular modem control Buttons app"
  i think, shown here before update i think with that app.

  as i wrote before, the screen caps with the device,
  (press ctrl+shift+p, without any app :) was clean.
  
  And those things have nothing to do with the moire effekt.
  I see those the same as you see...

  at normal light around me the keys all look same.
  when in a dark place the middle keys seems little darker.
  had see that on a screenshot somewere much darker, so
  we should keep an eye on that if...
