  I've installed from the App Manager.
  During the afternoon I'll reinstall Irreco w/o maemo hackers repo to see weather it works now.

  I was really wild about the telnet feature to remote control my vlc.
  
  Hopefully this will be fixed soon.
  In the meantime I will continue using the webinterface which vlc also...

  I got the same problem with Canola2 on my n800. Media is playing fine with the onboard Media Player.
