it sounds easy to do and very useful. i do not have the knowledge to do it, but just mapping the camera button to a key on the controller seems like an easy thing.

Well i tried creating an ad-hoc connection sharing my internet connection one time to make my pc a wifi hot spot. the n900 connects but does not show any web pages, so i will have to look into that...

Try going to the settings (on the phone not the sygic app) then to the location settings. disable the use of internet for the gps.

the internet connection is used to determine your location faster...

Do Sygic offer updates? I don't know but i'm sure they will like any other app you install.
Do Sygic rely on the AGPS as the OVI Maps do? Yes (It was really fast in finding my position)
