  I use Fennec beta browser and found it's the only browser that can handle Fbook places with any reliabilty. :)

  Mine updates. It is not on my main home screen, but a secondary one (swipe to the left!).
  
  I swipe to the screen with it on, wait a second and then it changes to today & lists the relevant diary...
