This just happened to my Jolla Tablet - it was at 54% battery charge when I unlocked it and went away for about 1 hour to find my Tablet turned off after that hour.
I was able to normaly turn it on with the power key, not sure if plugging in the charger would also turn it on.

I enabled the persistent storage for journalctl now and will check it if it happens again.
