Resurrecting the off-topic query
What exactly is "Off Topic"?
(please ignore, this is just a test)
I am getting interested in IPFS,
after installing Freenet in a Ubuntu phone
(Ubuntu phone is virtually the most useless phone
ever shipped, so why not fling it into the Freenet misery pit?)
[yes - it did load but was a
spectacular fail
with angry ISPs]
and just to see how this works,
thought I would see just how permanent IPFS is.
If I could get something like IPFS to work on the Ubuntu phone,
It might actually be useful for something besides
an alarm clock and a way for my ISP to track my every move.
It could have some 'on-topic' relevance later on,
which means this may or may not be off-topic,
which is why I post this here.
Enjoy
(What am I testing ? - the image above is allegedly
an IPFS image hosted forever in a "virtual" fashion,
which is what all the fuss is about.
If it disappears or gets changed into something different
that would imply IPFS
is not quite ready for the highway. cheers)
What happens ?
So far, the picture remains.
If the picture is alleged to remain as long as someone
views it, occasionally - If I read the instructions correctly.
Eventually it should either die of old age
or become a "ghost in the machine" [apologies to Koestler].
How to :
go to
https://ipfs.pics/
and follow the instructions to upload.
The picture uploaded is shown below:
