I thought it might be nice to have a place for those at the conference to babble amongst themselves/to include those who cant make it

Ive arrived 30 mins ago at the Ballsbridge Hotel, checked in and bought wi-fi access so Im all good to go. Plenty of excitement about the Ireland v Samoa rugby match, but no sign of anything MeeGo-ish going on. Supposedly there is an early bird event started 7 mins ago at 2pm (Hackaton: hacking on various Maemo/MeeGo projects, working on small group) - lady at the desk didnt know where it was so sitting in my room watching F1 qualifying instead. Going out in a mo' to use the atm and buy some groceries from the store next door.

Edit: Thanks Stskeeps, the Early Bird sessions are in the ballroom of the Ballsbridge Towers side of the hotel.

Quick tips for those still to arrive at the conference hotel:
  • Closest ATM 1 min across the street
  • Supermarket next door for groceries and essentials, can walk through hotel corridor into it
  • Restaurant, bar, hair/nail salon on site.
  • 35 Euros for 5 day unlimited wi-fi (uses something called bitbuzz) Edit: There IS free wi-fi for participants, hold off purchasing until you can find out more info (probably in a workshop or session)
  • Bring a Linux OS laptop to enable you to better take part in the MeeGo SDK tutorials, save time by installing before arriving
