Yes you are quite right. But for me, my last Samsung device was the Note Edge (Qualcomm version sold in US a couple years ago) and, as it turns out, the Exynos version got quite a bit more development than the Qualcomm one. Especially for the kernel. In fact because of that I learned how to make some mods on my version's kernel so I could make it permissive and do a few other things. In this case it was a good thing cause I learned how to do something new!
