Sadly, the only thing that these idiots understood was "properly authenticated software" and something like open source is considered a threat since "just anybody" can alter the software; a common issue with some folks that govern our devices in the FCC, et al.

Oh well. It'll probably be turned around just like unlocking phones was in the US.
