770 had issues with 2006.

why pick the one release that was problematic, was a pain in the butt to troubleshoot...
instead of any of the others....?

I think that if you have a need for a hobby ...
then trying to get xterm working on a 770 ..
you sure picked a dandy that should keep you occupied needlessly

Personally I would be reflashing it and using 2007...
even the 2008 Hacker Edition.

And maemo hackers is not "down"
It's "gone"
as in... no more...
it hasn't been around for a long time now....

If you insist on digging through maemo hackers ...
try the "wayback machine"
possibly there are a few files that were preserved there...

Greetings from a 26-year Nokia (networks, not mobile) veteran in the year 2024!

I just got my hands on an N770, so this is still an interesting thread for me, at least

When my N770 boots it tells me it's running:

Kernel version:
2.6.16.27-omap1
#1 PREEMPT Wed Nov 29 2006

I'm going to do some digging around, but what is the recommended OS level for this fellow?

Thanks!
Brett.

As endsormeans said above he could even try 2008 but here are the files.

Make a pick.
