hey...

just found a flash "Puzzle Bobble" that "works" on the Nokia 770...

http://www.ventoline.com/frozenbubble/bustamove640.html

it "works"... well.. "kind of works"..
you can use left/rightkeys.. but, there's no "space" key...
so, you can't fire...

does anyone know how to remap the center button to "space" ?

Update:
pressing UP works as "fire"... (thanks for the tip guys!)
Strange.. I tried that before, but it didn't seem to work...
maybe because of the delay (almost 1s or so) I didn't notice it...

this does work... but it's slow... it becomes boring after a while...

The UP-key on a normal keyboard seems to work as FIRE al well. Sorry, can't try on my 770 right now, as it is "on tour" (given to friend for the day to try it out -- I so hope I'm not going to regret this!)

Yes, pressing up on the 770 directional pad works. Nice find Imf.

I thought this played pretty well. I compard it to pbobble on xmame and the latter couldn't do sound and had a lower framerate, but was obviously real-er.

would there be significant interest in a native port?

Yeah, I'd love to have frozen-bubble.
There was a guy working on it, it seems to be abandoned,...

From that thread 96:
Quick and (very) dirty guide to running Frozen Bubble on the 770:

- get r00t
- have dpkg work by creating the missing file and directories it complains about not having
- get FB .debs for ARM from any deb source
- dpkg --force-all -i the debs
- DISPLAY=:0; export DISPLAY
- run /usr/games/frozen-bubble -ns -vs
- look at the error message, find the .deb containing the missing file and install it
- repeat last 2 steps until no error
- play

wonder if that is really doable, and if it's possible to create a list of files to install. Don't have my 770 here atm so can't try now...

Would be great fun though!

Quick search for frozen bubble deb led me here:

can't use prebuilt debs anymore due to 2006 with new eabi.
so need to get src and build new deb.
may not be hard but takes a bit of time, which is precious!
oh to have had this when i was 15 and time was plentiful...!
