To resurrect a very old thread - but relevant now with the release of QT 4.6 for Maemo and of Maemo 5 itself ....
I have been using ForecaWeather on my N900 on Maemo 5.

But recently saw the demo version for the QT based "Mobile Weather" app on Extras devel for Maemo 5 - very nice graphics and animation, but it was a demo version and didn't allow saving preferences for locations.

Now recently I saw the "Mobile Weather" app itself (not a demo) - which allows one to save your locations.

But was a bit dissapointed in it incomplete status - like you cant yet change Centigrade to Farenhiet etc - and mostly launching the app is so slow... is this an indicator of QT based apps in general ? I hope now ...

I've moved this post to its own thread. Weather applications on Maemo 5 is a topic worthy of discussion, and one that can exist on its own.

If the old thread of a similar name in the OS2008 forum is to be awakened, let it be for OS2008-related discussion. That thread needn't have talk of Fremantle applications forced upon it.

Actually I got the post via a search and didnt realize it was for OS2008. But thanks for moving it to its own thread,

Getting back to the topic - ForecaWeather does the job nicely - as a widget.
The QT app Mobile Weather is a disapointment so far -

Its negatives are
a) Portrait mode only
b) Slow to start
c) Screen flickering as it starts
d) No temperature settings to Farenhiet mode
e) No 10 day (or 7 day) forecast screen - just today's weather
f) Time of reading does not seem to match the device timezone

Good points

a) QT based - as that seems to be the new standard
b) Very good looking graphics and animations

OMWeather is my favorite but didn't work properly on PR1.2 last time I tried it...
