The specs do look better on paper, however is there a fundamental leap in real-world performance at this point? Probably not.

What's the point of this post? An unlocked Droid is now $439.99 at Newegg, original price $600, it's similar hardware and release date as n900. It's pretty much normal for prices to drop like this, in a market with a short shelf life. I don't think anyone would claim that the Droid is unpopular.

The Dell deal for $369 was a sale for 4 days, it's now at $399, which seems to still be a sale price, god forbid anyone have one of those.

For Droid @NE, I'm not very comfortable with the idea of paying almost $500 (including 10% CA sales tax) on an electronic gadget that has 30 day non-manufacturer's warranty, also no 3G support on this one. Current Amazon price still beats the $369 Dell's for states that pay taxes on purchases from Dell, but not from Amazon, such as CA. Yes, price drops are to be expected, and now looks like a good time to grab a N900 if you feel this is a device you will like despite all the cons. My 2c.

Just checked today and the price is down to $400 on Amazon.

Just so people know, they can get a new one on there if they are shopping.

Is there even a point in buying a Droid unlocked? Is there a way to get Verizon plans for cheaper (like TMobile?).
