The Following User Says Thank You to qole For This Useful Post: | ||
of course maemo is connected to the Internet and everything runs fine (connected using usb network) , problem is just inside easy debian .
the following are what i tried to
first i tried to see where the problem was , in debian chroot i tried to ping google.com , I got bad host-name ,
so i edited /.debian/etc/resolv.conf , to include nameserver 8.8.8.8
now pinging google.com from debian chroot works , and i receive replies .
trying to do apt-get update , results in errors like can't resolve http.us.debian.org ,
ironically i can ping http.us.debian.org from inside debian chroot just fine !
to get apt to update i had to replace http.us.debian.org with it's ip address in /.debian/etc/apt/sources.list , which isn't an acceptable solution since i can't access the Internet using other programs .
please help ! thanks in advance .
the above issue happens to me for unknown reasons if i am using power kernel and connected to the internet through usb, using stock kernel it works correctly .
[Solved] fixed by running "dhclient usb0" inside debian chroot , without quotes ofcourse .
