You might want to edit Modest so it doesnt startup automatically,
Here is how you do that, first make sure you have leafpad text editor installed.
Now look through the text file for all the things that begin with X-Maemo-Prestarted and delete them entries.Code:root apt-get install leafpad cd /usr/share/applications/hildon/ leafpad modest.desktop
This will stop modest from automatically starting itself. It will only open in the background when you connect to the internet or it you open it manually.
Give that a try, also let me know how using htop went to find out the application draining ur memory

BrowserD has multiple uses but if u close em one by one, you wil unfortunately find out that one was vital and your N900 will reboot :P Speaking from experience with tht one :P
The Xorg is another system process. Al of your processes seem fine :s
Maybe try and unisntal everything from extras-devel and extras-devel and see what one solves the problems?
Also I am not sure about the Modest thing, al that fix does isj ust stop i from automatically opening on startup.

Did you read the warning on extras-devel? It's there for a reason. You sound like you have lots of stuff installed from devel, and don't really understand what all of it's doing or how they could interact. Just from the what you've said, you have overclocking, fastsms, haze plugin, htop, kasvopus, TwimGo, and a couple others.
And you've installed them all since you reflashed to PR1.3 last week? You should really space them out a little so if one's causing problems you can notice and fix it. Since you've installed them all at once, it's kind of hard to tell what one thing, or set of things, may be causing it. For that matter, we don't know what else you've installed... It could be another app running that's not showing on the top list but taking up lots of memory. Try loading up top again and hitting "m" to show what processes are eating memory, since that's probably the root cause of your issue.
Add to that you're doing lots of things at once: 4 IMAP accounts, skype, IM connectivity, documents to go, all while connected to wifi apparently, since you have no cell data plan? Yes, it may actually run out of memory if you have all that going at once. This is not a desktop computer.
Also, in your top list, tracker is running, which tracks media, thumbnails, etc... Maybe it's having a hard time keeping up? Or maybe it's database is corrupt, or too large? Have you tried resetting it's database and letting it rebuild clean?
