I was thinking if there is/will be software that makes the on screen keyboard bigger? so you can thumb in the keys?

Spb software makes a thumb screen keyboard for the pocket pc...i have it on my ppc and it results in much faster text entry. The design of the ppc makes the full screen keyboard pretty easy...the nokia with its slightly offset screen and wider margins might be harder.
