just bought a gps receiver so i'm wondering what apps that can go with it and supports turn by turn navigation

thanks in advance.. I tried searching and can't get any clear answers

Maemo Mapper, Roadnav, Navit.

None of them really support offline routing (so you'll have to download the route when you have internet access). Well the default map application does but you have to pay for it. But I like maemo mapper the most. Though adding custom POI is a pain.

There's one that does do offline routing; roadmap, maybe?

I use Maemo Mapper, I have space to kill, and raster maps = satellite views = ftw!

I don't think roadmap does offline routing. At least not the version that's on the tablet (though I think offline routing is in the plans eventually).

You could actually try paying for Wayfinder's navigation option (Wayfinder is the mapping app that comes with the tablet)...

I realize this is an older thread, but the topic always seems to pop up.
How is the "smart2go" map service (a Nokia product)?

I may be mistaken but that's only available on Nokia cell phones. Personaly, I use Maemo Mapper on my N810 with the free Google maps.
