I have a problem with N810's wi-fi performance.

It shows 80% wi-fi signal quality, stays connected but it barely can see web sites etc...

It's as if Nokias wi-fi transmitter is of low power so even if the router's signal is strong it cannot return information to it...

Is wi-fi in N810 working at full power?

Thanks.

No, it isn't. At least not unless you tell it to use full power. Try the advanced panel of the network configuration screen, 'other' tab. Options are 10mW (default) or 100mW.

I thought those options had no real effect. At least I think I read that here at ITT.

That advanced screen also has a power saving setting which should be "on". I've heard that some routers don't work well with that setting but I don't know if that is part of your issue.

The setting doesn't have much, if any, effect on battery life, but it could have an effect on connectivity (I haven't done any testing on that). BTW I thought the default was 100mW, except for those regions where 100mW isn't legal (and the existence of such regions is the reason there even is an option to drop down to 10mW). At least that is approximately how it was explained a year ago or so.
