I've installed the quick and dirty port done by thp few months ago, since then there were no improvements nowhere, and at least a little restyle of the playlist is needed. Then pr1.2 popped out, and i'm kind of scared to reinstalling it without some solidariety.
So, today I've spent 4 hours to try to use it under easy-debian, but I were not able to install it .

apt-get says:
Code:
libcairo2: Breaks: xulrunner-1.9.1 (<= 1.9.1.8-3) but 1.9.1.6.1 is to be installed
E: broken packages.
)

so, would you be so nice to help this poor guy that has buy a n900 living the dream of using audacious for music in the metro?

(this is the guide for the dirty porting) http://khan.thpinfo.com/~thp/tmp/audacious-m5/

ok maybe i should state more clear the question:
-can someone help me in the installation under easy debian, OR, can someone develop a little bit the raw porting OR can someone verify if the raw port is working also on pr1.2?

It really looks as I'm the only one concerned, eh?

so:

Dear Ernia, the biggest issue are right now the super high cpu and memory usage [cpu 65% nd conky].
and another annoying issue is the playlist that's too small and has no buttons. Can you do something?

Well.. I've just managed in installing the sdk.. we'll see Ernia, we'll see... and I think the mem consumption is related to the alsa output plugin.. but I don't know how install pulseaudio, since is not in the installed plugins

hmm to for installing it is sufficient to install the package audacious-plugins-extra, but for what I've seen doesn't seems to help that much in lowering cpu cons. search on google for this file " audacious-plugins-extra_1.5.1-2_armel.deb " , since is bigger than the upload limit of this forum.
Good luck

inside the ~/.config/audacious/log file there's this entry, that is quite cryptic. any idea? what's going wrong?

Code:
Initializing Gtk+
Loading configuration
Initializing signal handlers
Handling commandline options, part #1
i'm sure the issue is in

Code:
Initializing Gtk+

(gdb) run
Starting program: /targets/FREMANTLE_X86/usr/local/bin/audacious
