Hi all, I just bought a used Nokia N9 and I knew from the previous owner that the proximity sensor was not working, so the screen was black during the calls, but I bought it anyway. She told me the phone fell and the screen broke itself, so she bought a new one on ebay, and after changing it the proximity sensor stopped working. This was more or less 3 months ago.

Today I received it, and switched it on, the screen was working but I wanted to fix the prox sensor problem as stated in another thread on this forum, so I opened the phone following the famous YT video by LE55ONS but when I reconnected the screen and switched on the phone, it didn't show the nokia logo, but the screen became like this:

https://files.one.ubuntu.com/RHHkJg7pRP60Ck1Lm89EJg

After a while the screen goes in power save mode and if I touch it the power comes back but there is still no image.

I am sure the phone switches on because I feel the little vibration and the nokia jingle, but then I can't do anything but switching it off.

I searched the forum for a similar problem but I didn't find it.

I already tried to leave the battery unconnected for a while, but the problem persists.

The phone still has 1 year warranty, should I bring it to Nokia?

Thanks anyone very much in advance.

Screenshots are useless on pages that need register & login.

Most common proximity sensor error on drop is that the sensor cable gets lose, and if you just reattach it, it starts to work. Atleast I've fixed couple phones just by reattaching the cable.

If phone had warranty, the 1st thing would have been to bring it to Nokia care, now that you opened the device yourself, it might have voided the warranty. You you can try it they take it in.

I am sorry for the link, there's a bug in firefox/ubuntu-one and it didn't display the "publish" option.

So here is a picture of the screen as it was yesterday:

Can it be a software issue? Reflashing it can help?

Thanks again
