this looks really nice; it says it's bluetooth, so maybe it would work out of the box? on the other hand, if it were mini USB as well, it could work without batteries. It'd be interesting to see if it could be used a bit like a cradle/keyboard for the N800.

if anyone has a computer accessory shop near them which sells this, any chance you could visit and give it a try with your IT?

that's just plain silly!

we have a big screen at work for monitoring systems, and use a compact wireless keyboard with integrated touchpad, cost US$50 or GBP25: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/104608

It is a bit expensive, but is really what I am looking for. I have a stowaway BT keyboard now, and while it is much better than the on-screen one and I can type fairly quickly on it, you really need a table or something to set the NIT on and then the keyboard. (yes you can use your lap (and I have) but it is still a balancing act.

With this, being a thumb keyboard you could just set the NIT down on a leg or something and use the keyboard by its self, or if the cover is strong enough maybe slide the N800 stand over it and hold it all that way.

Has anyone tried it yet? Maybe I will order one up and give it a shot..

I think it'd be hard to try. They still haven't released it yet, though there's a notify button for when that happens. It's been like that for a while now, I've heard, so who knows if it's near release or not.

My hope is that the shell makes a nice cradle for the IT.

Meanwhile some reports can be found on the net, that the dinovo mini is working well together with the N800. e.g.
http://packratstudios.com/index.php/...nd-nokia-n800/

Just ordered a dinovo mini and will also post my experiences here once it arrives an I do find the time to do some tests.

I'm the editor of http://packratstudios.com and like my article says the dinovo mini works great with the N800. I did change some of the navigation shortcuts around to better suit a thumb keyboard but, that's all I did. Using the N800 dinovo combo is great for SSH sessions now.
