If I place a bluetooth GPS receiver at the back of my N800 can the signal actually be too strong for the N800 and cause problems?
I thought I might buy a very thin GPS (such as G66 Touch GPS) and just velcro it on the back.

No, you can't hurt the BT by being too close, but the N800 can block the GPS signal. Make sure you know where in your GPS the antenna is located, and give it as clear a shot at the whole sky as possible...
