Ok today I ran into a problem. I've had my phone on the wall charger for a few hours today, and the led charging light is on, pulsing yellow, and the battery symbol is doing the animation where it looks like it's being charged. However once I disconnect the charger it shows low battery. I checked the battery status in the terminal with

lshal | grep percen

and it gave me a report of 0 percent

I reset the phone twice and it's still doing this. Luckily I bought an external charger and can charge my battery that way. However I don't want to have to turn off my phone everytime I need a charge and take out the battery. Is there any known issues concerning this, I did a search and only found threads discussing the battery draining too quickly, nothing really addressing the battery appearing to be charging when in fact it is not charging at all.

Thanks for the help.

This happened to me once but with the USB cord and not the charger. I had it connected for 4 hours while using it, and when I disconnected it immediately told me low battery.

Searched BUGS and found a similar problem under bug 6470 however I am using the wall charger not the usb cable. Apparently there is an issue that should be resolved in the next FW update. It's almost New Years I hope this comes out soon.

Well, this just got more interesting. I get home after having the battery on the external charger for a little and put it back into the device and placed it on the charger and it appeared to be charging, I went to xterm to check battery levels and then it rebooted out of nowhere, and it went to the diminished brightness Nokia logo then vibrated and then the loading dots were visible in diminished brightness and then it vibrated again and went back to the nokia logo again, and repeated this. Is this the reboot bug that's been discussed. Also of note this started happening bbecause I fell asleep last night and didnt charge the phone and woke up and it had turned off due to low battery. and hasn't been charging properly since. Going to fully charge the battery on the external charger before attempting to use the device again. Any ideas as to what is going on is appreciated.

I have that battery chrges only to 96%. Its 1222 current, altough 1269 is max. I think this is a battery issue because have not found similar cases.

Had the same problem for the second charge but went away.

On another note, is US customers not getting the charger adapter? Cause my first phone from Amazon didn't have it, and now my second N900 doesn't have it either?

I am in the US and did not get the charging adapter either. I assumed it was for a European charger or something. But the product site DOES say it's included, so it's a bit irritating.

Define "charging adapter" please... you don't mean the wall wort, do you? Was there some other adapter that should have been in the box?

I am in the States also and didn't receieve the charger adapter as well. I had the battery on external charger all night, so it's fully charged, now whenever I put the battery in, it immediately goes to the Nokia logo that is diminished in brightness, and then the 5 balloons pop up cycle thru, then it resets back to the Nokia logo, and repeats....sigh...I really don't want to reflash the device. Anyone else run into this?

There is an adapter that came with the european that had a little adapter to use the pin adapter from the previous N-Series models that converted it to micro USB. It stated on several sites that it was included with the US packaging, but it was not.
