i cant install or remove anything through application manager. it just gives me dpkg error. how to solve ? here is log

You need to edit the /var/lib/dpkg/info/account-plugin-salut.postinst file and comment out/delete line 6 (which is trying to restart avahi-daemon, but you don't have it installed).

What are the commands to type in xterm ?
Or how to do that ?

You'll need to have rootsh installed first, then you can do:

root
vim /var/lib/dpkg/info/account-plugin-salut.postinst
Then use the arrow keys to move to line 6, "dd" to delete the line, then "ZZ" to write the file and quit (needs to be in upper case).

it says -sh: vim: not found

Try "vi" instead then. I thought vim was installed as standard but obviously not. It'll work the same way though.

I ve done this but get a similar problem, different problem

weightjinni
