Unfortunately not - this has been posted as an annoyance before. People are also looking to get the photos desktop icon to default to the camera folder rather than "all pictures".
Might be nice to have an app that allows the creation of certain default settings.

When you open the calender with a shortcut or over the menu and not with widget, it saves the last view. So when I have choosen the month view and close the calender and open it again with my shortcut on the desktop its starts in the same view... i hope this helps you out.
Is there a way to make the calender app (the one shipped with the phone) open in month view as opposed to the list view?
