With the browser the way it is, bloody amazing, it annoys me that a lot of the mobileweb pages keep being diplayed instead of the full page. is there a way to set this as cant find it in setting??

I did try searching but each search returned far too many results. feel free to point me in the right direction and remove the thread.

Im loving this phone more and more everyday but can be frustrating not being able to find things. some of the features you simply wouldnt have a clue were there unless told of demonstrated

Could be something to do with the User Agent string?

also check your bookmarked url is www.site.com and not m.site.com?

A lot of sites seem to assume that Maemo == mobile display. Yes changing the User Agent to something more desktop-y works great atleast for me.

You can open about:config in your MicroB, search for general.useragent.vendor and replace the string there with just Firefox/3.5 (delete everything after it)... Clear your cookies afterward and that should do it.

Of course, as people already suggested, make sure that you don't keep the mobile version bookmarked.

well it seems to change intermittently and some times i cant get the full view.

An example was i was checking a youtube vid, to be honest i cant remember how i got to the page but either way it was the full web page. i could view the video fine and worked like a dream.

next day i went to view a youtube clip and it kept sending me to the mobile view. when i started playing the movie it opening up the phone movie player and began playing it through that. i had some troubles so figurered i would just go to www.youtube.com. except i cant seem to view the full page anymore i keep getting redirected to the mobile view.

im at work so will give people suggestions a go when i gett eh chance

Tried changing general.useragent.vendor but it just changes back to the default. Whats up with that?

See this link

Settings that will not stick

Some settings get reset when MicroB starts. This is unfortunate, but you'll have to live with it.
[list of interesting strings]

Replaced:

* snav.keyCode.modifier
* general.useragent.locale
* general.useragent.vendor
