Hi

I have recently purchased the N900 and I noticed a problem with the camera.

In very light or outdoor areas the camera is perfect. Indoors (during the day) or darker conditions results in the camera taking photos with lines all across the screen which flicker around.

Enabling night mode fixes the issue.

Is my camera broken?

Thanks

So it's normal then?

well, you could rig an image sensor from Nikon D3s (=sony) inside. but it would require pretty big lenses etc.

but yes, it is normal. when on low light, use night mode that has better noise reduction that removes the lines from final images.
