1. Do you have the same problem when you do those same tests with n900 on wifi?
2. Is it possible for you to tether the n900 to a regular PC / laptop? If yes, is the PC able to successfully make calls?

If the answer to (1) is "no", it means the problem is most likely with your carrier - providing a 3G frequency does not imply providing 3G speeds.

If the answer to (1) is "yes" or if the answer to (2) is "yes", then one possible conclusion is that your n900 is not capable of the processing power required for maintaining a good voip sound quality and 3G at the same time.
This does not mean your n900 is defective - it is quite possible that you have some application on your n900 that is hogging the CPU or memory.
Many people here (including me) have successfully carried out voip communication over 3G.
More debugging will be required in this case.

thanks for the reply. I did not test with wifi. I called to gtalk(pc) the speed is very slow but can hear my voice. I tried with my E71 the 3g is working nicely as well as voip. for regular call there is no problem. i can hear recipient's voice clearly but sometimes they can't hear me. if i move the slide-bar of the phone also the phone and if pressure the slide-bar then sometime it becomes okay. I tried by changing kernel and overclocking and also tried without installing any software as a new phone but problem still exist. Other function of the phone is working well.
